NEW WAVE emphatically represents the experimental dimension of Studio Lukas Cober and explores the possibilities of fibreglass in a startling yet subtle way. The elegant sculptural objects embody a movement that on the one hand seems to refer to flowing water, but mostly reflects a fluid process of creation and the flux of motion with which the material was processed into its distinctive appearance. Layer by layer, the fibreglass is applied and as patiently shaped and sanded. The works, as utile as they are expressive, enchant with their muted appearance and the enigmatic interplay between transparency and opacity that makes their presence nearly elusive.Â
